How it works
Technology
UV-DTF (Ultra-Violet Direct-To-Film) is a transfer sticker printed with ultraviolet inks. Onto film A with an adhesive layer we lay a white underbase, the CMYK colours and varnish. Each layer is cured instantly by a UV lamp, so the ink does not spread and gives a crisp edge with detail down to 0.5 mm.
The finished image is laminated with carrier film B. That is how the transfer arrives: two layers of film with your artwork sealed between them. No heat press, no oven, no heat at all — which is why the sticker can be applied in an office or at a pick-up point.
Application is simple: degrease the surface, peel off the backing, place the sticker and press with a squeegee from the centre outwards. Then slowly peel away the carrier film — only the print remains, cut exactly to its outline, with no clear border around it.
Because the print is built in layers, the image is tactile and raised — you can feel it, like spot varnish in offset printing. The print resists water, household chemicals and scratches and does not fade. One limitation: the surface must be hard and not curved in two directions — on a sphere or a complex relief the sticker will crease.

The technology is very precise, so it will not rescue a poor file — on the contrary, it shows every flaw.

Detail
- Minimum element and line weight — from 0.5 mm
- Isolated small elements (dots, separate letters) are better joined by a common base — otherwise they are hard to apply straight
- For a cylinder the sticker width is limited by the item circumference — send a photo or dimensions

- White is printed as a separate layer: leave transparency in the file for clear areas

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about UV-DTF printing
Can I wash dishes with such a sticker?
Yes. The print is not afraid of water, detergents or condensation and survives regular washing. We do not recommend abrasive sponges or prolonged boiling — they gradually lift the sticker edge.
Which surfaces does the sticker not hold on?
Silicone, soft-touch and rubberised coatings, polyethylene and polypropylene with a greasy texture, rough untreated wood and textiles. Surfaces curved in two directions — spheres, balls, deep relief — are not suitable either.
Is it hard to apply myself?
No. Degrease the surface with alcohol, peel off the backing, press the sticker with a squeegee from the centre outwards and slowly remove the carrier film. Instructions come with every order, and for a run we advise ordering 2–3 spare stickers.
What is the minimum run and what drives the price?
We print from a single sticker. The price depends only on the printed area — we nest your artwork on a 58 cm roll and count linear metres; the number of colours does not affect the price. The bigger the volume, the lower the rate per metre.
